How to design anything
What is it?
Anyone can design, right? Well that’s what lots of clients, stakeholders and our colleagues think. However, design is a specific skillset honed over time to help people solve problems. There are several layers of information to navigate and often challenges with time and/or budget. This workshop will help you adopt a process that lets you and your clients/stakeholders know that you’re creating the right solution to the right problem. Every time!
You’ll go through 4 weeks of interactive sessions focused on collaborating with attendees and learning through doing.
I’ll run office hours every week so people can schedule 1:1 time with me around the week’s topic or submit an application of the learning to their own work for me to review
You’ll also get templates and resources to use as part of your process straightaway.

The first week covers tips and techniques for ensuring that all of your design can be tied directly to a problem. Not only will you understand how to define problems, but you will learn how to marry business goals with user needs as well as ensuring that stakeholders are all aligned on what you’re trying to do.
-
If you don’t know who your customer is, then it’s going to be pretty difficult to create design that resonates with them. This week’s session will help you identify your ideal customer and confirm their needs and wants.
-
Knowing what you’re creating and who you’re doing it for contains some inherent assumptions about the state of the world. This session in the workshop focuses on honing your ability to identify assumptions, and design experiments to test the riskiest ones based on a couple of case studies and real life scenarios.

In this week’s session, we bring together all the learning from the previous weeks to design a number of things together
